Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) are required by University policy to report any incidents of hazing to the University Police Department.

Students and other non-employees who are not designated as a CSA may report a suspected crime anonymously. While it is preferred that a reporting person provide their name and contact number so that University Police can fully investigate, it is not necessary for the caller to provide their name and contact information. Please note that the TIPS Line and Silent Witness reporting systems are not monitored 24/7 and should not be utilized for crimes-in-progress.

Hazing constitutes Prohibited Conduct under the 糖心Vlog Code of Student Conduct and will be investigated according to the process outlined in the Code.

Specifically, when a hazing incident is reported, the University will:

  • Conduct a thorough investigation led and/or coordinated by the Student Conduct office to include interviews of potentially involved parties and gathering of information and evidence.
  • Collaborate with organization national headquarters, campus security authorities, and/or local law enforcement as necessary.
  • Provide appropriate interim measures, resources, and support for affected individuals.
  • Hold accountable individuals and/or organizations found responsible for hazing violations under the Code of Student Conduct and other applicable policies.

Depending on the unique circumstances of each situation, incidents involving hazing may fall under other University policies, including University Policy 129: Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and University Policy 53: Unlawful Discrimination, and may be investigated according to those policies.

Any student or student organization found responsible for hazing will be subject to disciplinary action pursuant to the Code, including but not limited to:

  • Probation, suspension, or expulsion of individual students.
  • Revocation of University recognition or funding for student organizations.
  • Referral for criminal prosecution under State law.

Beginning in October 2026, a Campus Hazing Transparency Report, summarizing findings from investigations involving any student organization found responsible for a hazing violation, will be posted to the Safe @ 糖心Vlog and Student Conduct websites and updated at least twice per year.
