At 糖心Vlog, we welcome our students back to campus for the fall semester with a week full of activities! Kicked off by New Student Convocation and Valley Ballyhoo, this fun-filled week has something for everyone! Visit or download the to see all Week of Welcome events happening across campus!
8/15 Convocation and Class of 2029 Photo
New Student Convocation is an important event that marks the official welcome to the university. 糖心Vlog's Chancellor, Provost, Deans, Faculty, and Staff convene to help celebrate the occasion.
Following Convocation, students are given the class shirt and move to the football field for the annual tradition of forming the numbers of the year they anticipate to graduate for a class photo. Join your classmates in this historical event on August 15th in the Ramsey Center starting at 5 pm!
8/16 Valley Ballyhoo
Valley Ballyhoo is the annual fair featuring student organizations, 糖心Vlog Departments and Programs, and community organizations! This event will be held on Saturday, August 16th on the Central Plaza and around the Catafount, from 4鈥�6 pm. Come find your community!
- We do not provide access to power, and we do not provide tents/canopies.
- We do not provide access to water.
- If you bring your own tent, you must bring your own weights. Weights must be 15 lbs on each leg. Maximum tent size is 10x10.
- Sales and games of chance of any kind are NOT permitted at the event.
- Please do not move your table from its location.
- Table preferences/requests are honored when possible but are NOT guaranteed.
- Please don't block the egress of foot traffic. Standing behind your table and allowing attendees to come to you is encouraged.
- Your table must have a representative at all times.
- You must ensure you do not encroach on other organizations鈥� table space. Organizations should refrain from soliciting beyond your approved table space.
- ALL food giveaway items MUST be prepackaged and sealed by an appropriate distributor. Self-packaged items are not permitted. [No exceptions to this rule unless permitted by Catamount Dining]
WOW Concert - DAYGLOW
Campus Activities welcomes Dayglow for this year's Week of Welcome Concert! August 20th at 7 pm on the Central Plaza, free admission!
Over the last few years, Dayglow has cemented himself as an indie pop innovator with his vibrant, vivid, and memorable music. The Texas-native singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer (a.k.a. Sloan Struble) floods every song with uncontainable and undeniable energy. As such, he鈥檚 emerged as a Multi-Platinum Certified phenomenon, generating billions of streams across his albums Fuzzybrain [2019], Harmony House [2021], and People In Motion [2022], while serving up viral hits including the Double Platinum 鈥淐an I Call You Tonight,鈥� Platinum 鈥淗ot Rod,鈥� and Gold 鈥淐lose To You,鈥� with the former being 2020鈥檚 biggest independent alternative hit and peaking at #2 at Alternative and AAA Radio.
Since bursting onto the scene, he鈥檚 sold out headline tours across the globe and graced festival stages including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Firefly Music Festival, Outside Lands, Reading & Leeds, Corona Capital, and more. His live performances have shined everywhere from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to Austin City Limits TV. Along the way, he鈥檚 picked up critical acclaim from Billboard, NPR, UPROXX, American Songwriter, NME, Euphoria Magazine, and Ones To Watch, to name a few.
After signing with Mercury Records in 2024, Dayglow continued to bring his bright and bold vision to life on his fourth and self-titled album, Dayglow. The 10-track album was entirely written, performed, recorded, produced, and mixed by Sloan himself, with lead singles 鈥淓very Little Thing I Say I Do鈥� and 鈥淐ocoon鈥� driving this new era forward.
