Aquatics

Lifeguard

Maintains a safe environment during aquatics programs and open swim hours at Reid Pool.

*Certification Required

None

Swim Instructor

Instructs swimming lessons and water safety classes in accordance with American Red Cross WSI requirements and guidelines.

*Certification Required.

None

Base Camp Cullowhee

Adventure Shop Specialist

Assist patrons with outdoor equipment rentals, maintain equipment inventory, and provide support during outdoor trip prepartions. 

None

Climbing Wall Technician

Provide customer service and maintain a safe environment for patrons and staff at the Campus Recreation Center Climbing Wall. Instruct patrons in the proper use of equipment and belay technique.

Trip Staff

Work with other trip staff to maintain a safe environment and facilitate meanigful outdoor adventure programming for student participants.

Facility Operations

Fitness Assistant

Maintain a safe and welcoming environment on the Campus Recreation & Wellness Fitness Floor.

None

Housekeeper

Maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the Campus Recreation Center: remove trash, restock paper products, disinfect surfaces, vacuum floors, etc.

None

Recreation Assistant

Assist patrons who visit the front desk of the Campus Recreation Center: issue equipment and locker keys, answer general facility and program questions, provide general support to Campus Recreation & Wellness staff.

Fitness Programs

Group Exercise Instructor

Facilitate motivating group fitness classes that are safe, effective, and accessible for all. Create a welcoming environment that supports participant engagement, promotes health and wellness, and encourages a positive fitness experience.

Personal Trainer

Deliver safe, effective, and personalized fitness programs for clients of all fitness levels. Conduct fitness assessments, design goal-oriented workout plans, and coach clients with encouragement, professionalism, and expertise.

Marketing

Marketing Team Assistant

Assist in Campus Recreation & Wellness marketing efforts including graphic design, photography, social media, departmental newsletters, etc.

Sport Programs

Intramural Official

Supervise, keep time, and enforce the rule book for a variety or intramural sports played during the academic year.

Summer Camp

Summer Camp Counselor

Plan and facilitate camp activities for youth attending the Lil' Cats Summer Camp during the months of June and July.

*All positions require a Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification as a condition of employment. Any positions with "Certification Required" listed in the description is referring to any additional certification.

Please review the requirements and job descriptions for each position as several positions have certification requirements that are a condition of either hire or employment.

  • If the certification is a condition of hire, then the applicant must already have the certification at the time of application submission.
  • If the certification is a condition of employment, if hired the applicant must have the certification by the first day on the job.

The Center for Career and Professional Development (CCPD) is and excellent resource for job applications. We will use the CCPD's Professional Handbook as our rubric for grading.
