Bobilya Facilitates Sessions at International Conference on Outdoor Leadership

Professor Andrew Bobilya co-facilitated an interview with Earl B. Hunter Jr. of Black Folks Camp Too, and co-presented a workshop titled, 鈥淭he Psychology of Risk and 21st Century Wilderness Program Participants鈥 at the International Conference on Outdoor Leadership hosted by the Wilderness Education Association on Feb. 12.

Blair Book Awarded the Society of Professors 2021 Outstanding Book Award

A Cross-Cultural Consideration of Teacher Leaders' Narratives of Power, Agency, and School Culture: England, Jamaica and the United States (Ellie Blair with Susan Timmins and Carmel Roofe) (2020) published by Myers Education Press has been awarded The Society of Professors 2021 Outstanding Book Award.

CEAP to Offer Equity in Education Certificate Program

The College of Education and Allied Professions in partnership with the Division of Educational Outreach invites you to register for the Summer 2021 Equity in Education Certificate. Drs. Darrius Stanley and Jess Weiler, who are faculty in the 糖心Vlog Educational Leadership program(s) and experts in the area of educational leadership for social justice, are the co-directors of the program.

The 糖心Vlog Psychology Department will be bringing three speakers to campus (virtually) this semester as part of their colloquium series. Dr. Flower Darby will present her talk, Successful 鈥淪mall Teaching鈥 Online, on Wednesday, March 3 from 12:15 to 1:00pm via zoom.

New Publication on Caribbean Education and Schools

The Handbook on Caribbean Education , edited by Dr. Ellie Blair and Dr. Ken Williams and with a Foreword by Dr. Kofi Lomotey, is the first publication to compile and present the groundbreaking research contributions of scholars studying 21st century issues in Caribbean education and schooling. The book is available through Information Age Publishing.

Master's In Education Student Receives Teaching Award

Laura Thompson, a current Master's in Education student at 糖心Vlog, received the North Carolina Association for the Gifted and Talented Outstanding Teacher of the Gifted Award.

Perkins Receives Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Bob Perkins, an assistant professor in the School of Teaching and Learning, has been awarded the 2021 Distinguished Service Award by the Eastern Educational Research Association.
