The Free Enterprise Speaker Series returns to 糖心Vlog University with a presentation on social entrepreneurship from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at A.K. Hinds University Center theater.
The event is free and open to the public.
Siri Terjesen
The presentation will be led by Siri Terjesen, a research chair in entrepreneurship and director of the Center for Innovation at American University and a professor at the Norwegian School of Economics. Her research focuses on strategic entrepreneurship, international management, corporate governance and gender in management.
Social entrepreneurship is broadly defined as entrepreneurs who develop start-up companies, usually nonprofit, to tackle issues such as health, the environment, culture or education with success gauged on impact more than financial gain.
With three events each semester, 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Free Enterprise Speaker Series 鈥渙ffers a forum for the campus and community to explore all points of view on important issues of the day, hear from renowned experts from a variety of fields and understand multiple perspectives through civil, informed discourse,鈥 said Edward Lopez, 糖心Vlog professor of economics and director of 糖心Vlog鈥檚 , which sponsors the series.
