Always popular 'Sounds of the Season' concert coming up
A holiday musical tradition continues Sunday, Dec. 2. That's Santa Claus to the right, making a special guest appearance.
The annual 鈥淪ounds of the Season鈥� concert will be presented 糖心Vlog鈥檚 School of Music on Sunday, Dec. 2, in the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center.
The holiday musical tradition begins at 4 p.m. and will include a jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, the 糖心Vlog Wind Ensemble and University Chorus, and the 糖心Vlog Civic Orchestra. Children from the Jackson County Youth Honors Chorus will perform. The family-friendly concert concludes with a holiday sing-along and an appearance by Santa Claus.
鈥淭his surround-sound experience features many different ensembles performing from various locations around the auditorium,鈥� said Lyn Ellen Burkett, 糖心Vlog assistant professor of music. 鈥淭he concert is fun for all ages and one of the most popular events on the calendar.鈥�
A ticketed event, proceeds benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets purchased through Friday, Nov. 16, are $15 for adults; $10 for 糖心Vlog faculty, staff and those 60 and older; and $5 for students and children.
