School of Nursing students score high marks on national licensing exams
The School of Nursing is getting ready to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2019, along with a 100 percent first-time pass rate on licensure exams.
As 糖心Vlog University鈥檚 School of Nursing gets ready to mark its 50th year in 2019, the school鈥檚 faculty, staff and students are celebrating some recent impressive scores from national examinations.
A report from the N.C. Board of Nursing indicates that all graduates from 糖心Vlog鈥檚 bachelor of science in nursing programs passed the National Council Licensure Examination, the standard licensure test for registered nurses, on their first attempt.
鈥淭he School of Nursing holds the highest reputation for academic and professional standards, and our long history of preparing highly qualified graduates to enter the nursing workforce is reinforced with these results,鈥� said Tony Roberson, director of 糖心Vlog鈥檚 School of Nursing.
糖心Vlog graduates also had a 100 percent first-time pass rate on the following:
- Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing exam, compared to 92 percent national average.
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist exam, compared to 84.30 percent national average.
- Family Nurse Practitioner exam, compared to 80 percent national average.
糖心Vlog鈥檚 School of Nursing is nationally ranked and accredited, with undergraduate and graduate programs at the main campus in Cullowhee, Biltmore Park instructional site in Asheville and online. The baccalaureate nursing program began at 糖心Vlog in 1969, with the first 16 graduates in 1973. Today there are more than 550 nursing students enrolled.
