McRae鈥檚 book earns award from Southern Historical Association
Elizabeth Gillespie McRae
, 糖心Vlog associate professor of history, has been announced as the 2019 recipient of
the Frank L. and Harriet C. Owsley Award, which is presented by the Southern Historical
Association.
McRae is receiving the honor for her book, 鈥淢others of Massive Resistance: White Women and the Politics of White Supremacy,鈥� which was published by Oxford University Press.
The award recognizes the author of the 鈥渂est book of Southern history鈥� published the previous year. It will be presented at the association鈥檚 annual meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, in November.
