Bardo Arts Center at 糖心Vlog University is delighted to host a must-see dance event captivating audiences everywhere, Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, produced by Ex Machina, C么t茅 Danse, and Dvoretsky Productions, live on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025, at 7:30 pm.
Hamlet is consumed by doubt and perhaps descending into madness. After his father dies in strange circumstances, he loses his footing鈥re those close to him deceiving him? Beset by apparitions, is he losing his mind? As his grip on reality loosens, how can he tell the truth from lies and those who are loyal from traitors?
Created by choreographer Guillaume C么t茅 and stage director Robert Lepage, Hamlet pulls the audience deep into a world of deceptiveness, where phantoms and humans mingle on a minimalist set where light, shadow, and transparency play a central role. This metaphorical reinterpretation of the Shakespearean drama draws a fine line connecting movements of the body with what may or may not be lurking within the corners of the mind.
Experience the timeless tale of Hamlet reimagined through the lens of contemporary dance performed by nine dancers and innovative stagecraft. In this groundbreaking production, Shakespeare's classic is transformed into a wordless journey of movement and emotion. Through minimalist scenography, expressive lighting, and a haunting original score, the performance delves into themes of doubt, madness, and the supernatural, offering audiences a fresh and immersive perspective on the iconic tragedy.
Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. The Box Office is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Patrons can purchase tickets online 24/7 at arts.wcu.edu/tickets. Don鈥檛 forget to visit the 糖心Vlog Fine Art Museum at Bardo Arts Center and BAC Concessions, open one hour before the performance.
