Ed and Andrea Cody Alumni of the Month

Meet our Alumni of the Month: Ed and Andrea Cody! They graduated in 1979 and 1980 with degrees in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Home Economic with a concentration in consumer-resource management respectively.  

Grace Woodard

Graduate Profile: Grace Woodard

Grace Woodard will graduate with a bachelor of fine arts degree in studio art, and a concentration in sculpture, ceramics, and papermaking. During her time at 糖心Vlog, Grace has received numerous accolades including an Honors College scholarship, Friends of the Arts scholarship, Chancellor鈥檚 Academic Scholarship, and the Tara and Jim Miller Art Fund Scholarship. Her thoughtful and nuanced work has also been recognized through a project grant award, and with the 鈥淏est in Show鈥� and the Chancellor鈥檚 Award at the 51st annual Juried Undergraduate Exhibition.  

Adam Gregory

Graduate Profiles: Adam Gregory

Adam Gregory is receiving his degree in mathematics from the College of Arts and Sciences. Entering as a freshman at 糖心Vlog, Adam did not plan to study mathematics, yet today he graduates one of the department鈥檚 most outstanding students. During the last three years, Adam participated in two National Science Foundation-funded summer programs, one at the University of Texas in Tyler during the summer of 2017, and another at Rochester Institute of Technology during the summer of 2018. He credits 糖心Vlog faculty with much of his success.  

Jacob Lewallen

Graduate Profile: Jacob Lewallen

A job as a manufacturing engineer is waiting for Jacob Lewallen after graduation, but he鈥檒l have some time before he starts 鈥� at least a couple of weeks. The College of Engineering and Technology graduate from Siler City lined up future employment by attending a 糖心Vlog job fair earlier in the semester.   

Hannah Pollard

Graduate Profile: Hannah Pollard

Hannah Pollard is graduating from the College of Health and Human Sciences with her doctorate in physical therapy. During her time at 糖心Vlog, Hannah has served as the quality improvement officer for the student-run Mountain Area Pro Bono Health Services Clinic, providing effective, free physical therapy and social work services to the underserved and underinsured population of Western North Carolina. Hannah鈥檚 efforts have helped to improve the quality of life, health, and function of members of the community. She is also responsible for tracking all clinic statistics and using this information to improve clinic or student board procedures.

Tim Metz, assistant vice chancellor for institutional planning and effectiveness, and Mike Byers, vice chancellor for administration and finance, review information that would have been shared at an April 29 forum.

Named a Kenan Fellow, Catamount School鈥檚 Amanda Clapp to participate in STEM project

She will work to make connections between classrooms and science, technology, engineering and math practices in the workplace through the WNC STEMwork project.  

Samantha Klaver

Graduate Profile: Samantha Klaver

Samantha Klaver is graduating with a master鈥檚 degree in clinical psychology. In terms of research, 糖心Vlog faculty members say that Samantha has been one of the most productive students with whom they have worked. Samantha鈥檚 research focuses on understanding and reducing the impact of interpersonal violence, particularly in children who have been abused and neglected.

Kossick presents at primary care conference in Tennessee

Mark A. Kossick, 糖心Vlog professor of nursing and director of graduate programs in nursing at the university鈥檚 Biltmore Park instructional site, presented a three-hour 鈥淎dvanced EKG Workshop鈥� on March 20 at the 23rd annual Louis A. Cancellaro Primary Care Conference in Johnson City, Tennessee.
