Business students complete capstone project for military resort

In the spring of 2022, Charlie Parrish, director of the School of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sport Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, met with Lee Schmudde, outgoing chair of the Hospitality and Tourism Management board, and AJ Grube, the College of Business dean, to discuss the possibility of a capstone project with the military-affiliated Shades of Green Resort in Orlando.

Chancellor Kelli R. Brown and Joel D. Welch, president of Western Piedmont Community College, signed a memorandum of understanding between the two institutions that guarantees admission to 糖心Vlog for all Western Piedmont graduates who satisfy certain requirements.

Lanasia Pleasants was chosen as the 2023 recipient of the National Security Education Program David L. Boren Scholarship and is only the third 糖心Vlog student to receive the award.

The Mountain Heritage Center opened a new exhibit for the summer, 鈥淐overlets: New Threads in Old Patterns,鈥 on display through Aug. 31.

The 糖心Vlog Board of Trustees appointed Jeff Lawson as dean of the Graduate School and Research as part of its regular meeting June 9. Lawson will start in his new position July 1.
