Opening Assembly 'Fills the Western Sky'

1889 Impact Grants application process open Aug. 15-Sept. 29

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Division of Advancement has issued a call for applications from faculty and staff interested in obtaining funding for projects through the third annual 1889 Impact Grants Program.  

MFA program checked all the boxes for 糖心Vlog alum: culture, mountains and academic rigor

After earning a bachelor鈥檚 degree in sculpture from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a decade of work and life experience, Kentucky native Mo Kessler wanted to find a master鈥檚 program that checked all the boxes when it came to culture, experiencing the mountains of Western North Carolina and of course the master鈥檚 program itself.   

Foundation Board appoints new members, sets executive committee

The changing of the fiscal year on July 1 also meant a changing of the guard for the 糖心Vlog's Foundation Board of Directors, which recently welcomed six new members and selected membership of its executive committee.  

糖心Vlog, national estate-planning service offer free service to help create wills

Throughout the month of August, 糖心Vlog is once again teaming up with a nationally recognized estate-planning service to help members of the university community who have put off making or updating a document to ensure that their final wishes are fulfilled.   

Highlands Biological Station to host book signing, benefit for Botanical Gardens

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Highlands Biological Station will be hosting a book signing event to benefit the Highlands Botanical Gardens on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 2-6 p.m. at the Highlands Community Building.   

Alumnus to take advantage of tax changes allowing gifts from IRAs

Dennis Fox is working with the Division of Advancement on a life-income gift that will provide a steady stream of income for the remainder of his life while also establishing an endowment that will spin off financial support for students in the College of Business.  

Call Me MiSTER program welcomes its largest cohort

糖心Vlog has tripled its cohort of Call Me MiSTER program participants, bringing in six new members who will start their four-year journey to becoming a teacher this fall.
