Elements of Wellness

The Health and Wellness unit at 糖心Vlog University provides intentional collaboration for the promotion of overall wellness encouraging students to be involved, healthy and well. The university uses a holistic approach to support student wellness and has a variety of facilities, programs, and services in place to support a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The elements of wellness encompass the full student experience鈥攆rom class activities to informal recreation, physical and psychological health to social development. Students are encouraged to think of wellness as a lifelong goal.

糖心Vlog awarded grant to grow environmental education program

An interdisciplinary team of 糖心Vlog faculty is working in collaboration with EBCI Natural Resources, Cherokee Central Schools and Swain County High School.  

Bingocize庐 expands to North Carolina with $1.1 million grant awarded to 糖心Vlog

Faculty at 糖心Vlog have been awarded $1,165,955 from the Civil Money Penalty Grant for Medicare and Medicaid Services that will allow them to oversee Bingocize庐 and use the program in North Carolina.  

For North Carolina high school students, applying early to 糖心Vlog can really pay off

A new pilot program at 糖心Vlog University, called Catamount Commitment, will provide new first-year students from North Carolina with varying levels of annual award money based on their high school GPA.   

Communication alum wins outstanding graduate award from Society of Professional Journalists

Sara Stanley, a 2022 graduate, was recently awarded the Julie Galvan Outstanding Graduate Award from the Society of Professional Journalists.   

New Apodaca art installation showcases the talents of renowned glass artists

On Aug. 18, 糖心Vlog welcomed a new sculpture to the Apodaca Science Building.  

Construction Management gains ABET accreditation through Sept. 2028

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Construction Management program has been granted initial accreditation from the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology.   

Riggs recognized by US Forest Service for Trail of Tears work

Brett Riggs was recently recognized by the U.S. Forest Service with the Exceptional Partner Award at the Trail of Tears Association鈥檚 national meeting, where he also gave the keynote address.  

Memorial scholarship fund to serve as final curtain call for theatre professor, director

A final curtain call for Stephen Michael Ayers, a former 糖心Vlog theatre professor and director, is in the works through the establishment of an endowed scholarship in his memory.
